How do I transform my body and mind when nothing else has worked?

big woman headacheIt is my experience that most people believe that being overweight or obese is a sign of weakness. The reality is that most people are strong, intelligent, and creative individuals who are stuck in their belief that weight loss and body acceptance can only result from a steadfast devotion to deprivation diets and painful lifestyle shifts. The trouble with popular weight loss plans is that they do not address the role of trauma in weight gain or the ways in which an individual might internalize traumatic experiences through food and overeating.

When you work with me, we will find what works for you to reach the path of freedom for your body. Everyone’s journey towards transformation is unique. I help my clients discover their uniqueness and empower them to find the path that works for them without shame, deprivation, or painful lifestyle shifts.

What can I expect during a session?

Sessions in weight release begin with a one-on-one lifestyle assessment that takes into account daily routines, lifestyle and personal past. Perhaps there are painful emotional or spiritual triggers that could be causing persistent weight gain or inability to lose weight. In this practice, we work together to release the negative energy that blocks one’s path to a healthier, more empowered self.

I encourage my clients to visualize their ideal body and establish a goal. I also use the neuro-focused healing technique, brainspotting [hyperlink to brainspotting page], to release traumatic body memories. My practice never uses the weight scale to quantify results. Instead, I work with you to make subtle, natural lifestyle shifts that do not rely on exclusivity, but rather integration of whole foods, tailored nutritional supplements, positive self-talk, and healing techniques.
